Besides 1-on-1 tutoring programs and online self-study flash books, TutorChinese.com offers campus classes with world-class Chinese Language Center of National Chengchi University(CLC), which had educated about 4,000 students from more than 40 countries including middle and hign level officials of European Union.

The CLC offers regular Mandarin Chinese courses four terms a year. The Spring, Summer, and Fall terms each last 12 weeks with a total of 180 teaching hours; for the Winter term, we provide a 10-week course with 150 teaching hours. Students are expected to attend all 15 class hours each week.
All CLC classes are divided into beginning, low-intermediate, intermediate, and advanced levels. Students in each level are further grouped into low, medium and high classes according to their individual Chinese language proficiency. Students are assigned to different class times according to the result of the placement test and/or the student's language proficiency. Class times range from 08:10-11:00, 12:10-15:00 or 15:10-18:00 depending on the level make-up and availability of the teaching staff.
The free courses are restricted to regular program students.
In order to increase students’ learning opportunities and the effectiveness of these opportunities, the CLC arranges 6 to 7 different types of free courses each term. Currently offered are the following:

Total in-class time of each free course is 5 hours; class size is dependent upon space available, as well as the course content. More detailed information will be announced prior to the start of each course.
Aside from the regular language courses, the CLC also offers elective courses, on an irregular basis. Elective courses incur an extra fee. Currently offered are the following:

An elective course will only be offered if a minimum of six students sign up for it. If the course is canceled due to insufficient applicants, a full refund will be made to all students who signed up.
Individual courses are highly customized, tailored to the individual student’s needs. The class schedule and hours are incredibly flexible; however, please note that students must attend at least 15 hours of class per week in order to qualify for a visa extension.
The arrangement of individual courses depends upon the availability of teachers and classrooms. The content of the course will be agreed upon by the teacher and student after a thorough discussion.
The individual course class location must be within the premises of the CLC and the class times must be arranged from 8:10AM to 6:00PM, Monday through Friday.
The tuition for individual courses is 700NT dollars per hour, with a 500NT dollar registration fee. (Students of the regular CLC program are exempt from paying the registration fee).

Introduction
In July and August, the CLC holds the Mandarin Study Tour for groups of 10 or above. The intensive language courses and cultural tour aim to give international students the opportunity to experience both quality language classes and a taste of authentic Taiwanese lifestyle. The curriculum includes three hours of Mandarin Class every morning, Practical Conversation practice and Cultural Workshops in the afternoons, as well as one amazing Weekend Field Trip to one of the most famous Taiwanese tourist attractions, Taroko National Park.
Class Placement
The CLC holds a placement test at the beginning of the course to determine the students’ level of Chinese language proficiency. Students will be assigned to the classes most suitable to their level.
Mandarin Class
The CLC offers 60 hours of non-credit intensive Mandarin classes. All classes are taught exclusively in Mandarin. Readings provided are in traditional Chinese characters, and both Pinyin and Zhuyin systems are offered, in order to meet students’ differing needs. According to the results of the placement test and the student group size, the CLC divides students into different levels and sections, with around 2 to 3 class sections per level. Small Classes of 5-8 students are held to ensure more individual attention is received. Curriculums may be adjusted if necessary.
Campus Tour
To better introduce international students to the living circles of the CLC, NCCU, Taipei, and Taiwan, the CLC invites Student Ambassadors from the Office of International Cooperation, NCCU to conduct an indoor presentation followed by a thorough campus tour.
Practical Conversation
The afternoon Practical Conversation practice, held by teaching assistants, is designed to allow students to apply their daily lessons to practical situations outside the classroom. The activity, introducing local cultures and lifestyles, may take place in various locations to serve different class goals.
Cultural Workshop
To provide international students with the opportunity to experience Taiwanese culture, the CLC provides various Culture Workshops. For Summer 2009, the CLC will offer workshops such as Martial arts, Beijing Opera/Chinese Knotting, and Traditional Chinese Calligraphy.
Weekend Field Trip
Students will visit the Taroko National Park in Hualien and the Center for Traditional Arts in Yilan during the two days and one night Weekend Field Trip. The Taroko National Park is a must see for anyone visiting Taiwan. It is a natural paradise full of exotic birds and flowers, clear mountain streams and beautiful scenery, with grand mountains overlook the majestic, unpredictable Pacific Ocean. The Center for Traditional Arts in Yilan has many interesting traditional Taiwanese arts and craftwork on display, as well as several intriguing fusion performances. It is without a doubt one of the best places to visit to gain a deeper appreciation and understanding for Taiwanese culture.
